Kendrick White
Beg Adult Hip Hop
Kendrick was born and raised in Orlando, FL. He has always had a love for the arts and in particular, dance. However, it wasn’t until after graduating from high school the he went from being a spectator to an active participant. After being invited by a friend, Kendrick found his way to Spotlight Dance Center in 2010 and began taking hip hop classes. Out of curiosity, he ventured into a lyrical class where he discovered that he also loved the technical side of dance. From there he quickly and seriously started taking classes in the style of not only in hip hop and lyrical, but jazz and occasionally ballet as well.
As an employee of Orange County Public Schools and the YMCA of Central Florida, he found ways to put his skills to good use. In 2012, opportunities came along to work with youth sponsoring after-school dance clubs, as well as coaching and choreographing the competition cheer team at Southwest Middle School.
Also in 2012, Kendrick became the administrative assistant to the owners of Spotlight. Later down the line, he expressed his interest in teaching. In the fall of 2014, he was given the chance to sub a few adult hip hop classes and by January of 2015, he was added to the weekly roster with his very own adult beginner hip hop class. After much success, Kendrick currently teaches 3 of the 5 weekly adult beginner hip hop classes at Spotlight. Although it has been such a short time frame, Kendrick has made great accomplishments and is enjoying the journey while continuing to evolve his craft as a teacher and choreographer. He is looking forward to every opportunity the future has in store
